When you walk into Arckatron Studios, the first thing you will notice is records stacked upon records. These records immediately give you an indication of what type of producer Y?Arcka is. He’s a sampler, but not the type of sampler that you may be thinking of. Y?Arcka is very methodically technical when working with Samples; chopping a sample and reinterpreting it, then making 5 beats out of that one sample in a single session.

The Philadelphia producer, who hails from New Jersey, is a 13 year veteran of producing music. Although Hip Hop is his genre of choice, Y?Arcka is capable of producing a wide variety of sounds. He has worked with several artists from soul singers to emcees.

Using Jay Dilla’s “Donuts” and Madlib’s “Beat Konducta” as inspiration, Y?Arcka released “Un-Herd Vol. 1″, his first beat compilation CD. He is now prepping the release of several projects, including a project with Philadelphia emcee, Drematic that is simply titled “Water”. Y?Arcka describes the project as “dealing with all aspects of water” and each song has a theme that deals with the subject of water.
