Soul, style and self-assurance reflect the aura of Helen Marie; a Brooklyn, New York singer and poet by way of St. Louis, Missouri. With themes of love, dreaming and self-identity, Helen Marie’s music evokes personal reflection and challenges listeners to find their own individualism.

Consequently, her first EP, Rebirth, documents a musical journey of her travels from the Midwest to the East coast. The project begins with her search of love and concludes with her realization of her potential and purpose.

Helen Marie accredits her time spent reading and writing poetry as a child as the introduction of her songwriting skills. Listening to contemporary Gospel singers such as The Clark Sisters, Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams and Fred Hammond influenced Helen Marie’s musical career.

Although jokingly admitting that she was introduced to hip hop in her pre-teen and teen years—when Tupac and Biggie Smalls died—she quickly fell in love with the culture and music.
